With printer's device and numerous wood cuts, diagrams, and initials. Binding is 19th century old roan. A great mathematician, Archimedes' work is of fundamental importance in mathematics, mechanics and hydrostatics. Galileo, Descartes, and Newton were influenced by his writings.
